Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear to class? Workout wear is perfect for dance class. Clothing should fit close to the body; nothing baggy or loose. This is so the instructor (and you!) can see what you are doing. Dance shoes are optional. Most of us dance bare foot but having dance shoes or socks may make for easier turning and moving across the floor.
Do I have to show my belly? No, you don’t. In fact, we recommend not doing so, because it can leave your lower back muscles open to getting too cold, creating potential for injury.
Do I have to purchase finger cymbals? We recommend purchasing your own. Finger cymbals are a core part of our curriculum for our classes and they are fitted to each individual. There are some available to borrow.
I’ve studied belly dance before; which class is appropriate for me? Please contact us. We would be happy to hear about your previous experience. Together we can make a more informed decision as to what class might be right for you. Once you attend a class and see how things go, you can always move to a different class if you're not comfortable.
